Jewish communities have played a significant role in the social and cultural fabric of Latin America and Latinos in the U.S. for generations. Their experiences—marked by exile, adaptation, creativity, and belonging—have produced powerful narratives that resonate across cultures and borders. This showcase explores the voices, histories, and creative visions of Jewish storytellers across Latin America and Latino Jewish communities in the U.S.
The Havana Film Festival New York (HFFNY) proudly honors two film schools whose influence has been fundamental in making Latin America one of the most vibrant and innovative regions in world cinema: the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV de San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV) in Cuba and the Fundación Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
