ENRIQUE (KIKI) ÁLVAREZ
Kiki Alvarez (Havana, 1961) is a filmmaker, essayist, and serves as Head of the EICTV Fiction Direction Chair. His films Sed, winner of two Coral Awards, and the feature film La ola, are part of Cuban experimental cinema. In 2013, his film Giraffes won the Spirit Award at the Brooklyn Film Festival. His film Venecia, which premiered in Toronto, won three awards for Female Performance at the Guadalajara Film Festival and five Golden Kikitos at the Gramado Film Festival. Under a Powerful Sun won the Post-Production Award from the Fund for the Promotion of Cuban Cinema.
