A fictionalized account of the legendary hired gunman Antonio das Mortes, set against the backdrop of the final days of rural banditry in Brazil. The story chronicles Antonio’s journey as he observes the tragic transformation of Manuel, a simple rural worker, into a ruthless criminal. As Manuel falls under the sway of Antonio's sworn enemy, Corisco, the infamous "Blond Devil" (portrayed by Othon Bastos), he joins Corisco’s gang, leading to the brutal and bloody Pedra Bonita Massacre.

Una narración ficcionada de las aventuras del temido pistolero Antonio das Mortes, ambientada en los últimos días del bandolerismo rural en Brasil. La historia sigue a Antonio mientras presencia la trágica transformación de Manuel, un simple trabajador rural, en un criminal despiadado. Manuel cae bajo la influencia de Corisco, el infame "Diablo Rubio" (interpretado por Othon Bastos), y se une a su banda, lo que desemboca en la brutal y sangrienta Masacre de Pedra Bonita.

Glauber Rocha

Glauber de Andrade Rocha (14 March 1939 – 22 August 1981) was a Brazilian film director, actor and screenwriter. He was one of the most influential moviemakers of Brazilian cinema and a key figure of Cinema Novo. His films Black God, White Devil and Entranced Earth are often considered to be two of the greatest achievements in Brazilian cinematic history, being selected by Abraccine as, respectively, the second and fifth best Brazilian films of all-time. Rocha also the distinction of having the most films on Abraccine's list: 5 films.

Glauber de Andrade Rocha (14 de marzo de 1939 - 22 de agosto de 1981) fue un director de cine, actor y guionista brasileño. Fue uno de los cineastas más influyentes del cine brasileño y una figura clave del Cinema Novo. Sus películas Dios y el diablo en la tierra del sol (DEUS EO DIABO NA TERRA DO SOL) y Tierra en trance (Terra em Transe )se consideran a menudo dos de los mayores logros de la historia cinematográfica brasileña, siendo seleccionadas por Abraccine como, respectivamente, la segunda y quinta mejores películas brasileñas de todos los tiempos. Rocha es también el director con más películas en la lista de Abraccine con 5 de sus películas.
