FRESA Y CHOCOLATE / STRAWBERRY & CHOCOLATE

Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, Juan Carlos Tabío | Cuba-Mexico | Fiction | 1994 | 110 min

David and Diego's story is the search for a place where they can simply be who they are. David is a student of social sciences at the University of Havana, and Diego, a homosexual artist whose goal in life is to create and exalt Cuban culture. One opens up to the complexities of interpersonal relationships, and the other fights to be recognized and accepted. Prejudices, the need to communicate and the difficult situations lead us to conclude that solidarity between people is one of man's greatest inventions.
