MY CUBAN DREAM

In the beating heart of Old Havana, where rhythm blends with the pulse of the soul, Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba has made dreams its way of life. For nearly thirty-five years, its school and professional company have guided children and young dancers to believe, to create, and to defy gravity—not only of the body, but of life itself. In a city shaped by history and resilience, this space becomes a refuge where discipline and imagination open new paths for the future. The documentary moves through lights, rehearsals, and silences, where every step reveals a story of effort, passion, and belonging. Beyond the stage, it captures the transformative power of art as a force for community and personal growth. All unfolds under the guiding vision of its founder, Lizt Alfonso, whose words resonate like a promise: to help each generation turn their dreams into reality through art and dance.
