THE IVY
Azucena, a woman in her thirties, approaches Julio, a teenage boy living in a group home, for reasons he doesn’t understand. As they spend time together, an uneasy closeness grows, changing the shape of a bond neither expected to find.

Azucena, una mujer de treinta años, se acerca a Julio, un adolescente que vive en un hogar para menores, por razones que él no comprende. A medida que pasan tiempo juntos, surge una cercanía inquietante que transforma un vínculo que ninguno de los dos esperaba encontrar.
About the Director
Cristina Barragan
Ana Cristina Barragán (Quito, 1987) is a filmmaker whose debut Alba (2016) premiered in Rotterdam, winning 35+ awards and screening at MoMA. Her films have played major festivals. In 2025, she premiered The Ivy in Venice and developed new projects.
