HE WHO RETURNS

Cuba, early 21st century. Mandy is a young art graduate who returns to his small coastal town to complete his community service. There, he must confront a local reality that clashes with his aspirations and ideals, placing him at a crossroads between avoiding confrontation within an oppressive political context and pursuing personal and artistic freedom. It is a fictional work with autobiographical elements by director Armando Capó.

Cuba, comienzos del siglo XXI. Mandy es un joven graduado de arte que retorna al pequeño pueblo costero donde nació para cumplir su servicio social. Allí deberá enfrentar una realidad local que choca con sus aspiraciones e ideales y lo colocará en una encrucijada, entre evitar la confrontación dentro un contexto político opresivo y la búsqueda de una libertad personal y artística. Es una ficción con elementos autobiográficos del director Armando Capó.

Armando Capó is a Cuban filmmaker whose work explores memory, identity, and the passage of time, often rooted in personal and historical narratives. Through a contemplative and visually evocative approach, he crafts intimate stories that reflect on family, loss, and the enduring ties that shape who we are. Armando Capó es un cineasta cubano cuya obra explora la memoria, la identidad y el paso del tiempo, a menudo anclada en relatos personales e históricos. A través de una mirada contemplativa y visualmente evocadora, construye historias íntimas que reflexionan sobre la familia, la pérdida y los vínculos que nos definen.
