ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Ivan Cherjovsky
Ivan Cherjovsky holds a doctorate in anthropology from the University of Buenos Aires. He works as a permanent teacher at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes. Member of Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA), he's the author of academic books and articles on Jewish-Argentine History. As a filmmaker, he's the co-director and producer of the documentary film The Jerusalem of Argentina (2017), winner of two international awards, related to the memory of the last descendants of the Jewish gauchos, who started arriving in Argentina as settlers of the Jewish Colonization Association at the end of the 19th century. He’s the producer, director and co-editor of the documentary The Exile of the Musicians (2024). He’s currently working on a documentary about children in hiding during the Nazi era.
