Ricki travels to Cuba to reencounter Beatriz, a slender girlfriend he left behind years ago. The woman he meets is still beautiful but overweight. Claudia, a young woman desperate for cash to buy a house, seduces a drug dealer in order to rob him. Celina is a necrophile who rents the corpse of a man to spend a weekend with him. Three dark love stories intertwine over the course of a long night in Havana.

Gerardo Chijona holds an English Language and Literature BA from Havana University. He started his career directing numerous documentaries. In 1992, his first feature ADORABLE LIES, premiered worldwide at Sundance Film Festival. His next three films, A PARADISE UNDER THE STARS, LOVE BY MISTAKE, and TICKET TO PARADISE also premiered at Sundance. He has also directed ESTHER SOMEWHERE, THE HUMAN THING, and THE GOOD DEMONS. LOVE IN THE DARK is his eighth feature.

Licenciado en Lengua y Literatura Inglesa en la Universidad de La Habana, Chijona comenzó su carrera dirigiendo numerosos documentales. En 1992 debutó en el festival de Sundance con su primer largometraje, ADORABLES MENTIRAS. Sus tres películas posteriores, UN PARAISO BAJO LAS ESTRELLAS, PERFECTO AMOR EQUIVOCADO y BOLETO AL PARAISO tuvieron también estreno mundial en Sundance. Posteriormente ha realizado los largometrajes ESTHER EN ALGUNA PARTE, LA COSA HUMANA, y LOS BUENOS DEMONIOS. OSCUROS AMORES es su último film.
