Mauricio finds it difficult to understand and find peace with the last six years of his life as he turns sixty and Cuba enters the 21st century. He has experienced not only personal hardships, such as the unexpected death of his wife, but dramatic social change in his country as well. Mauricio opens the window for us into what has made him the man he is today and life in modern Cuba.

Al alcanzar los sesenta años de edad, mientras Cuba entra en el siglo 2, Mauricio se encuentra con dificultades para entender y balancear los últimos doce años de su vida. Mauricio ha experimentado no solo penurias personales, como la muerte inesperada de su esposa, sino también dramáticos cambios sociales en su país. A través de Mauricio nos presentan una ventana hacia la vida en la Cuba moderna y hacia todo lo que lo ha convertido en el hombre que es hoy.

MANUEL PEREZ

Manuel Perez (Cuba, 1939). He joned the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC) as Assistant Director in 1959. He also worked on the ICAIC’s Latin American news program. In 1961 he Dircted his first documentary Cinco picos, and in 1973 his first feature film, El hombre de Maisinicú. He is an artistic consultant for the ICAIC production company and member of the Consejo Directivo de la Fundacion del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano. MANUEL PÉREZ, Cuba, 1939. En 1959 se incorpora al Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC) como asistente de dirección. Trabajó en el Noticiero ICAIC Latinoamericano. En 1961 dirige su primer documental Cinco Picos, y en 1973 su primer largometraje, El hombre de Maisinicú. Es asesor artístico de la Productora ICAIC y miembro del Consejo Directivo de la Fundación del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano.
