A young thief, who aims to be a writer, steals a manuscript, a masterpiece by an outstanding narrator. The robber, in desperate need of money, masks the story and sends it to a contest. Unknowingly, thief and writer become rivals, each of them competing for the award with their own weapons.
Un joven ladrón, que tiene como objetivo ser un escritor, roba un manuscrito, una obra maestra de un narrador excepcional. El ladrón, en su despesperación por obtener dinero, enmascara la historia y la envía a un concurso. Sin saberlo, el ladrón y famoso escritor se convierten en rivales, cada uno de ellos compite por el mismo premio con sus propias armas.
Geardo Chijona graduated in English Language and Literature from Havana University. His film Adorable Lies had its world premiere in the 1992 Sundance Festival, and was also a finalist for the Golden Camera award at the Cannes Film Festival. His three subsequent features – A Paradise under the Stars (1999) Love by Mistake (2004), and Ticket to Paradise (2010) — were also premiered at the Sundance Festival and have been screened in numerous international festivals. His last movie, Esther Somewhere (2013) has been awarded at the Los Angeles Latino Film Festival and in the Havana Film Festival in New York. Mr. Chijona has been a jury in Sundance, Chicago, Huelva, Havana, Lima, Ceara, and Cartagena de Indias international film festivals. He is a professor in the San Antonio de los Baños International Film and Television School in Havana since its foundation and was the head of its Directing Department.
