A Havana Night Benefit Gala, our main fundraising event, allows AFLFC to produce its unique exchange programs in the arts that have been helping build cultural bridges between the U.S. and Cuba since the year 2000. Havana Film Festival New York, AFLFC’s flagship project, annually premieres over 40 exceptional films from and about Latin America, the Caribbean, and Latinos in the U.S. The festival gives our audience the opportunity to see the latest in Cuban cinema as well as the highlights from the International Festival of the New Latin American Cinema, which takes place in Havana every December. Each year, 25 filmmakers are invited to participate in the HFFNY’s rich educational programs and directly interact with our audience.

This year, A Havana Night Benefit Gala will be honoring HFFNY founders as we celebrate its 15th anniversary. Honorees include Ivan Giroud, Director of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana; Kenneth Halsband, President of Physical and Post-Production at Relativity Media; Carole Rosenberg, President of AFLFC; and the late Marcia Donalds, Film Professor at Tisch School of the Arts in New York University.

Please join us for a special evening of cocktails, dinner, and live music. The highlight of the gala is its live and silent auction, featuring an assortment of priceless treasures and original art works by internationally recognized Cuban artists including Abel Barroso, Ivan and Yoan Capote, and Carlos Quintana; and American artists Will Barnet, Giancarlo Impiglia, and William King, among others.
