Synopsis:
Víctor, a 17 year-old handcart operator, dreams of becoming famous due to the TV he watches at an appliance store in the Municipal Market No. 4. When he receives an unusual proposal to transport 7 boxes with unknown contents in exchange for a $100 bill, Víctor, who has never seen a bill of this denomination, has no idea how much Guaraníes (Paraguayan money) this is worth. But he also knows that he shouldn’t ask. Víctor and his persuaders will get involved in a crime that they know nothing about. EspañolSinopsis: Víctor, un carretero de mercado de 17 años de edad, sueña con ser famoso por culpa de la TV que mira en una tienda de electrodomésticos del Mercado Municipal No. 4. Cuando recibe la propuesta de transportar 7 cajas de contenido desconocido a cambio de un billete de 100 dolares, Víctor, quien nunca ha visto un billete de esta cantidad, no sabe cuántos Guaranís (moneda paraguaya) son – solo tiene la certeza de que no debiera preguntar. Víctor y sus persuasores se verán envueltos en un crimen cuyas causas, victimas y victimarios, se mantienen en lo desconocido. |

The Maneglia-Schémbori tandem took formal shape in 1990 with the TV miniseries La disputa, although they had already co-directed several shorts. All of their telefilms and TV series have been big hits in Paraguay: La decisión de Nora, Cándida, Villa Koeyu, González vs Bonetti, GVSB, la revancha, and La Chuchi. In 2009 they founded the TIA (Taller Intergal de Actuación), where they teach children, adolescents and adults. 7 cajas, their first feature, won the Films in Progress Award at San Sebastian Film Festival in 2011.
Español El dúo Maneglia-Schémbori se formalizó en 1990 con la mini-serie de televisión La disputa, aunque antes ya habían co-dirigido varios cortometrajes. Todos sus telefilmes y series de televisión han sido grandes éxitos en Paraguay: La decisión de Nora, Cándida, Villa Koeyu, González vs Bonetti, GVSB, la revancha, y La Chuchi. En 2009, fundan el TIA (Taller Integral de Actuación), donde forman a niños, adolescentes y adultos. 7 cajas, su ópera prima, ganó el Premio Cine en Construcción del Festival de San Sebastián en 2011. |
