Synopsis
Yax looses his interest in preserving his ancestral customs. His sister tries to convince him not to abandon his tradition. Thanks to a dream, he eventually realizes that to abandon one’s customs is to forget one’s self.
Director's Bio
Elvis Caj, Maya Poqomchi´ was born in September 21st, 1990 in San Cristobal Verapaz in Guatemala. He studied in the school of cinematography Casa Comal. In 2009 he won his first golden medal in the competition of the Cine Artesanal in Cobán, Guatemala. In 2011, he debuted as director with the short Nanimaj Chick/ Volver a Creer. Currently, he studies direction and also works as an assistant director for a feature-length film at Casa Comal.
