Synopsis

Cuban director Ian Padrón presents his first feature-length film as “a fictional story about reality.” Tracing the lives of two Cuban classmates with different upbringings, Padrón follows a privileged student who blindly enters into the dangers of Carlos’ neighborhood, La Timba. What follows is an unforgettable journey full of discovery and the formation of a strong frienship. Featuring members of the internationally renowned children’s theater company La Colmenita, Padrón’s stylistic feature is guaranteed to warm the heart.

Director's Bio

Ian Padrón was born in Havana on March 14, 1976. From a young age, he collaborated in a variety of projects including an animated series Filminutos with ICAIC. In 1996, he began working with ICAIC and produced his first film, Vertical Love. In 2000, his short Motos became the first student produced thesis in 35 mm at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba en la Facultad de Cine, Radio y Televisión. Dreaming in blue was his first full-length documentary and it deals with baseball in Cuba. His second full-length documentary Van Van Fever was a box office hit around the world. Habanastation is his first feature-length film.
