During the first half of the 19th century in Havana, Cecilia desires the world of the white aristocrats. Her vehicle would be Leonardo, nihilist and contrarian young. Leonardo’s mother opposes their love and arranges a marriage to a rich young woman. Cecilia, crazed with jealousy, convinces one of her lovers to kill the fiancée on the day of the wedding. This torturous passion shows the underside of splendor of an enslaved society.

Humberto Solás is an emblematic figure in Latin-America cinema. In the 60’s, he became one of the founders of New Latin American Cinema. During this period, he filmed Lucía, which is globally considered to be one of the ten most important films in the history of Latin-American cinema. His films have participated as official selections in festivals of Cannes, Venice, Moscow, Toronto, Montreal, Sundance and San Sebastián, among many others.
