Rural traditions and modern life clash in these chronicles of the life of a hard-working peasant family. The story paints an evocative picture of the many hardships experienced by millions of rural Chileans. Rather than intertwine the narratives, Huacho follows the characters one by one throughout their day, showing us the adversity each faces.

An honest motorcycle-taxi driver and law-abiding citizen, Libertador Morales dons a disguise to become El Justiciero, an avenging motorcycle hero who foils the crime spree of a local street gang in Caracas.

Los Van Van has been the most popular band in Cuba for more than 40 years.  The documentary follows their most recent tour in Cuba, attended by more than 1 million people.  The band’s history and future plans are also included.

Homo Erectus / 20 Años

Homo Erectus gives us a glimpse of homosexuality in Cuba today. Jorgito, a young male who is in the process of figuring out his true sexual identity decides to tell his macho dad “Benito” that he is gay. As shocking twists unfold in this serious yet hilarious story we are reminded that Love Conquers All. Homo Erectus portrays transvestism Cuba in a new and critical way. It emphasizes a family’s role in the formation and sexual orientation of children during their developmental stages.

Jara is a shy and lonely 35 year-old man who works as an overnight supermarket security guard in a suburb of Montevideo. One day he discovers Julia, a 25-year-old cleaning woman, through one of the cameras and is immediately attracted to her. At first he spends hour after hour in front of the security monitors watching her, but, before long, he begins to follow her after work: to the cinema, the beach and even on a date with another man. Jara’s life becomes a series of routines and rituals around Julia, but eventually he finds himself at a crossroad.

Israel Rodriguez started this project when he shared with Fernando the idea of documenting his choreography of the American premiere of Spartacus. During the videotaping, Fernando suggested that they could make a more comprehensive documentary, where Israel would cover the story of Bujones’ work with the Orlando Ballet.  Israel videotaped him as much as possible, although he never thought that the end would come so soon.  When Fernando suddenly fell ill and passed away in 2005, Israel decided to focus the story of the movie on Fernando’s life.  This film is a beautiful, powerful and touching portrait of the dancer’s life.
