BUSCANDO A MIGUEL / LOOKING FOR MIGUEL - US Premiere

Miguel is a young Colombian politician blinded by his own privilege. The victim of a violent attack, he loses his memory and finds himself living in a very different world, a world inhabited precisely by the kind of people he had once despised -- a cast of colorful indigents, garbage-pickers, petty thieves and a pious and promiscuous drag queen who falls madly in love with him. These people provide him with their own form of warmth and solidarity, but Miguel is haunted by fragments of his past. Eventually, he finds out not who he was, but rather who he is: a man struggling for redemption.

Miguel es un joven político enceguecido por sus privilegios. Víctima de un violento ataque, pierde la memoria para terminar en manos del tipo de gente que despreciaba. Miguel conocerá un trio de simpáticos buscadores de cadaveres, un travesti rezandero y libertino, un cartonero que prepara ricas sopas y experimentará la tibieza de la solidaridad cuando se está mas allá de todo y se es ajeno hasta de sí mismo, pues Miguel el politico ya no existe, aunque hay otro Miguel esencial que lucha por emerger y buscar, -si hay- , una redención.

Film director, screenwriter, actor, and producer. His debut as an actor was in Kapri, musik die sich entfernt, directed by Ferry Radax. Since then, he has worked in more than a dozen film, television and theatre productions in Colombia and the U.S. Fischer studied acting at the Transform Theater in Berlin, the Lee Strasberg Institute and the Elaine Aiken's Actor's Conservatory in New York; and film writing and editing at the School of Visual Arts and The New School. His first feature film El Septimo Cielo was awarded as Best Colombian film in Bogota Film Festival. Buscando a Miguel is his second film.

Nació en Bogotá, Colombia. Director de cine, guionista, actor y productor. Su debut actoral fue en Kapri, musik die sich entfernt dirigido por Ferry Radax. Desde entonces ha trabajado en más de una docena de películas, seriales de televisión y obras de teatro en Colombia y E.E.U.U. Estudió actuación en el Teatro Transformación en Berlin, el Lee Strasberg Institute y el Conservatorio Elaine Aiken y dirección y guión en el School of Visual Arts y New School. Con su primer largometraje El Séptimo Cielo ganó el premio a la mejor película colombiana del Festival de Cine de Bogota. Buscando a Miguel es su segundo largometraje.
